UCONN Concessions

Welcome to the Concessions Stand!

Each year we contract with Sodexo to volunteer for several different UCONN home game concessions stands. We have worked stands at Women’s and Men’s Basketball and Men’s Soccer and Hockey. Check out this year’s schedules below.

Great news! We have 3 opportunities for TIPS Training this fall. We are in need of more parent volunteers to complete this training to cover our concessions stand shifts this year. Training is free and the virtual class will last about an hour.

TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol.

How We Earn Money

10% of the concession stand profits go to Project Graduation. We also earn tips which go directly to Project Graduation. Earned funds will go directly to your child’s grade level, so it’s never too early to start volunteering at these games. In a typical basketball season, we earn $8,000 -9,000 for Project Graduation! This is one of our largest yearly fundraisers for us, and we are fortunate to have this contract there.

What You’ll Be Doing

At hockey games, there are many different opportunities to work as a cashier, food runner (getting drinks, pretzels, hot dogs, candy) or food prep (filling popcorn, preparing hot dogs, pretzels and nachos).

At basketball, we are running a beverage cart in the beer garden. There is also a separate ice cream cart with pre-packaged ice cream. For this position you will need to be comfortable working solo.

Everyone arrives early enough to prep food and set up the concession stand before the doors open to ticket holders. No special training is needed; wear sneakers and show your spirit in your Bacon or UCONN gear. You will receive an email with your specific game and parking information the night before your shift.
